Sullins Whitesburg Invitational Meet (SWIM)

This is a reminder -- I highly encourage you to participate in the Sullins Whitesburg Invitational Meet (SWIM) on June 25. If you would like to participate, tell our coaches what you want to swim, sign the waiver (page 2 of the flyer that can be viewed by clicking here.), and provide a check to CRA by THIS FRIDAY. Events and cost are provided below. All three items must be complete and turned in to the coaches or me by Friday in order to enter the meet.

The great thing about the SWIM meet? You and your swimmer can choose what you want to swim. It is your choice! Swim something you haven't swam this season. Swim something to improve your time. Swim something because it is a challenge. Just go and have fun and swim :)

ENTRY FEES: $3.00 per individual event. NOTE: A surcharge of $1.00 per swimmer, said surcharge being used for administration costs.
Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the meet director. Late entries will be charged $2 surcharge per swimmer, $4 per individual event.
ENTRIES: A swimmer may swim four (4) events. Teams will use HYTEK’s Meet/Team Manager to submit their entries.

SO.....Here is a cheat sheet for entry fees if received by Friday June 17.

  • One event: $3 + $1 = $4 total
  • Two events: $3 + $3 + $1 = $7 total
  • Three events: $3 + $3 + $3 + $1 = $10 total
  • Four events: $3 + $3 + $3 + $3 + $1 = $13 total

Make checks payable to CRA. We will submit one check for our entire entry fee to Whitesburg with the entry. Entries will not be made without payment.

May 23, 5:30-6:30PM

May 25, no practice, opening day at Camelot
May 26, morning practice begins

May 28, time trials meet and social, warm up at 8AM

Time trials meet

Please make an effort to participate. This will be a mock meet format. Parents, please be ready to volunteer to teach other parents how to do swim meet volunteer jobs. Also please be open to learning a new volunteer job. Our coaches want a best effort from each swimmer!

Social

Saturday morning after the mock meet
11 and under - bring a side dish to share
12 and older - bring a fruit or dessert to share
all families bring drinks for your own family
swim team will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs

Swim and Dive Memberships are Available

  • 2011 cost is $100 per household plus $55 for each swimmer and diver
  • Submit membership application according to instructions on the Camelot website
  • Note on the top of the form that you desire a swim or dive only membership
  • The $35 transfer fee mentioned on the form is NOT applicable for this type of membership
  • Submit swim and dive registration form, available on the swim team web page, to the Swim Representative or Swim Committee Member
Swim and Dive Memberships allow access to Camelot for Swim Team and Dive Team activities. Coaches are responsible for ensuring that Swim and Dive Members leave the pool area when the Swim Team or Dive Team activity concludes.

Swim Team Registration

If you were unable to attend the meeting on May 5, you may register during the first week of practice. Fees are due by May 31. Swimmers will not be permitted to swim in the first meet if dues have not been paid.

Practice

  • Practice will begin the week of May 16 if the pool is ready to open. A swim team email will be sent to notify parents of the exact start date. It is dependent on completion of the maintenance required to open the pool.
  • Practice times until summer break from school begins: 4-5PM for ages 11 and up, 5-6PM for ages 10 and under.
  • Morning practices will be 9-11AM for ages 11 and up, 10:30-noon for ages 10 and under.
  • Stroke clinic will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30PM. Stroke clinic will begin when summer break from school begins.
